Obidos, a town for queens

Nice, that means you're at least a princess :) Obidos was the town of Portuguese queens since 1282, when King Dinis gave Queen Isabel a fief as a wedding present, and for the next 600 years every monarch would follow into his footsteps. Obidos is more like a museum in itself, surrounded by whitewashed walls erected by the Moors, with ramparts of 3/5 of a mile in circumference. My favourite there is the 15th century castle, now one wing turned into a "pousada" for tourists.
